The Henley Passport Index, published by Henley & Partners, ranks 199 passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access visa-free or with visa-on-arrival, covering 227 travel destinations worldwide. Using data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), it provides an authoritative, up-to-date measure of global travel freedom. In 2025, Singapore holds the top spot with visa-free access to 195 countries, followed by Japan and several EU nations. The index is widely used to assess passport strength and mobility worldwide.
